The issue is that almost all of Santana’s plotlines stem from sexuality in some way- THAT is limiting and dismissive of her as a character. So basically we get Santana’s sexuality over and over again because it sells in a way that, a sexual, say, Mercedes plot wouldn’t because she’s not as mainstream attractive

Honestly, I do have to wonder if Santana’s storyline would be held up as “inspirational” and if people would act like it’s the best thing ever if Santana had been played by Amber Riley, and Brittany by Ashley Fink - keeping everything else the same. Supposed chemistry and acting skill, writing, everything.
